HOW IT WORKS.
We have great programs in Tanzania’s great destination, with passionate local staff to support you during your time abroad.
We take an individual approach, matching you to an opportunity tailored to your interests and goals. But how does it really work in practice?.
Step 1: Let’s talk
You’re probably expecting that we start with all the paperwork, right? Well actually, the first step is simply a conversation. Use the apply now or contact us to tell us what you are interested in – and it’s no problem if the details are still vague. Maybe you can’t decide between our destinations of Arusha,Dar es salaam and Zanzibar, or between two areas of interest, or maybe your dates and availability are still unclear.
Don’t worry – all of this can be covered during our initial phone calls through sykpe or through whats app calls or chat or email. We’ll connect you to the person on our team best suited to discuss the program you’re interested in, and ask you to send us your resume/CV.
During the call, we’ll discuss your objectives for this experience, any specific concerns or doubts you might have, or even what you did last weekend – anything that helps us get to know YOU.
You’ll also get a better understanding of exactly what our program has to offer,
specifically related to your interests, skills, and goals.
Step 2: Apply
To apply, email us your application and two reference letters (typically one from a university advisor and the other from a supervisor at a past work or volunteer experience). We also ask At least 50% of the full amount is required as a deposit to confirm your placement at the project), provided that you do not receive an offer in your first or second choice field, which is 100% refundable.
Then we will get to work, using our vast network to identify the most suitable opportunities for you. Typically, within 4 to 8 weeks of receiving your application, we’ll send the first offer to you. Once you approve an opportunity, the balance of your program cost is due to be paid.
Step 3: Travel
Next, we provide as much pre-trip support, advice, and information about us, program placement, hostel accommodation, meals, pick up and drop off orientation, and our destination city as you’ll need. You’ll receive an information pack and some useful guidelines for making the most of your experience, and we’ll answer every question you have as we help you prepare for your extraordinary international experience!
We’ll guide you through housing options, arrange your airport pickup, meet with you for an orientation (covering safety, transportation, and cultural norms), and at your request, accompany you to your first day at your project after doing a town tour with you on 2 nd day of your stay in Tanzania. We’ll then be with you every step of the way, 24/7, for help, advice, and in case of an emergency.
We are truly passionate about what we do and will do everything we can to ensure that you have the time of your life!
