Volunteer Responsible Policy

Volunteers should be part of the community in which they work and they should not impact adversely on the community;

We are actively involved in a number of water projects that conform to the standards of the UN water is life program and also we are involved in community development projects like medical care projects, Care-Orphanage and Teaching Project.

We never force western views on our partners; we always take economic needs coupled with the environmental need into account;

We only send volunteers when they are needed and not for simple financial gain;

All water projects use locally sourced renewable materials where possible;

We actively support full recycling;

  • Training and briefing all staff on company environmental policy and how to adopt best practices;
  • Ensuring suppliers and Project Partners are fully aware of our environmental policy and that they adhere to it;
  • Ensure that all of our new projects are researched fully, taking all local environmental considerations into account.

Social responsibility

This is at the core of everything we do we operate on a totally not for profit basis – we make NO money ourselves;

Volunteering must form part of an overall local led strategy;

Volunteering should empower the next generation;

All staff and suppliers receive full training with regards to our organizations’ social responsibility program;

We provide all volunteers with a full induction before they go and on arrival – this focuses on the importance of respect and cultural diversity;

We always ensure that our new projects are researched fully taking local needs fully into account – the projects MUST benefit the community economically and developmentally.

Ethical Policy

Most of our coordinators run local-level organizations and work hard to address local issues affecting the life of their communities. In addition to our international coordinators, we work directly with local schools, orphanages, development agencies, and community organizations. We strive to ensure each program meets the high standards of quality as expected and deserved by our volunteers.

The Ethical policies focus on eight main key areas as follows:

  • Employees

AMANI HOSTEL volunteer programs value its Employees as a key resource. An atmosphere of good employee communication, involvement & responsibility both individually & as a team is of central importance. The personal development and optimum use of Employee talent is strongly encouraged

  • Volunteers

Everybody must play their part in providing quality and efficiency to volunteers. AMANI HOSTEL believes that integrity in dealings with local people and volunteers is a prerequisite for a successful and sustained business relationship abroad. Personal contact, helpful and responsive action are features of the service we provide to develop long term relations with our local/international volunteers.

  • Service providers

AMANI HOSTEL believes in supporting Tanzania community projects development and therefore will only recruit volunteers with an intention to help and to support local project in Tanzania and in Abroad selected projects which need more help and support from the money made through the volunteer fees.

AMANI HOSTEL will aim to develop relationships with our local and international volunteers based on mutual trust and all dealings will be conducted in a professional manner at all times. We also undertake to pay our partner on time and according to agreed terms on the service they would have given to us or to our volunteers on overseas or in UK,USA and in Europe..

  • Community

AMANI HOSTEL seeks to comply with all legislation affecting its operations. We will seek to serve and support the community in which it operates by providing services efficiently and profitably, and by providing good employment opportunities and conditions. We will take into account the concerns of the wider community including both national and local interests. In particular, we will agree a chosen local charity each year and Endeavour to raise money outside of business interests for this local primary school but mostly we will support the Oldenderiti primary school based in Tanzania.

  • The Environment

AMANI HOSTEL volunteer programs are concerned with the conservation of the environment in its broadest sense, and recognizes that certain resources are finite and must be used responsibly. We will therefore:

Work with others toward a consensus on environmental quality standards which are desirable and attainable.

Aim to improve all aspects of the business in respect of environmental issues.

Pay particular attention to environmental issues including the conservation of energy and natural resources, the control of noise levels, recycling of waste material, and the utilization of non-polluting technology. This is reflected in our emphasis to supply recycled promotional products as an option wherever possible

  • Health & Safety

AMANI HOSTEL volunteer program Promotions provide healthy and safe working conditions all its Employees and will do all this is reasonable and practicable to:

Protect the health and safety of its employees and minimize any adverse effects on the environment

Implement working practices to prevent personal injury and damage to property

Make all employees aware of risk assessments and raise awareness of their own responsibilities for the health and safety of themselves and others while working on our volunteer programs in Abroad.

  • Human Rights

AMANI HOSTEL volunteer program is committed to the prevention of any violation of established Human Rights of any kind, particularly where child labor or undesirable forced acts are involved.

Conflict of interest

This policy does not allow bribery or political contributions and requires employees to seek to avoid conflicts of interest and to disclose any that do exist. Employees must ensure that their actions are not affected by conflicts of interest. This covers the receipt of giving of gifts or hospitality which is prohibited.

Information

AMANI HOSTEL volunteer program Promotions regards information for the purpose of its NGO business as a corporate asset that must be protected against loss of availability, infringement, and improper disclosure. We seek to ensure as far as reasonably practicable, that this information is protected. This applies also to intellectual property including inventions, trade secrets, technical information, product design, production expertise, volunteer customers’ information etc.

Records

Honesty, completeness, and accuracy of records are vital. Records of transactions should be maintained in an accurate, complete, transparent, and timely manner in accordance with accounting principles. No unrecorded funds or assets should be established or maintained.
