A unique opportunity to be part of an exciting radio team in the heart of Arusha, Tanzania. You’ll observe experts in the field of Radio/Journalism and learn how they work in Tanzania. Working in a structured Work Experience placement in the developing world, plus the experience you gain, will be an excellent entry on your CV or Résumé.
The station works on news and entertainment. If you have past radio experience, then it is likely you will have plenty of freedom to express ideas and create your own work assignments. You could find yourself involved with preparing news stories and researching and editing features.

Duration Minimum stay on this project is 4 weeks. You can participate for up to 1 year, subject to visa requirements
Requirements No qualifications needed, but previous experience will enable you to do more in-depth and complex activities.  Minimum age 17.
Price From US $700 for 4 weeks, ranging to US $2,800 for 12 weeks.

PLACEMENT OVERVIEW

Be prepared for a lot of work, the station is very fast-paced by African standards. Because the radio station has a small team with such a large reputation, you’ll find yourself working many hours in a dynamic environment during your placement.
For people who have a passion for radio this is definitely the placement to give you great experience.
The station works on news and entertainment. If you have past radio experience, then it is likely you will have plenty of freedom to express ideas and create your own work assignments. You could find yourself involved with preparing news stories and researching and editing features.
In production and broadcasting there is also the opportunity to do initial reporting, writing, voice-overs, and depending on your past experience and how you demonstrate yourself, you could also be broadcasting the final story.
