The most common way to book your Kilimanjaro trekking with us is to pay cash on arrivals to Arusha, Tanzania, So we do not require down deposit payment, So We will be collecting this amount from you, when we meet you for the briefing.

Option 1 – Paying Cash

The best way to pay the balance amount is cash once you arrive in Moshi or in Arusha. And US Dollars are the preferred currency. Please make sure that the notes are printed after 2009, since only notes printed after 2009 are valid currency in Tanzania.

We will be collecting this amount from you, when we meet you for the briefing.

But here arises a common problem. Some are not comfortable in carrying such large amounts of cash. So, we offer an easy and convenient solution to this problem.

Option 2 – Paying Park Fees with Card

You can pay the park fees with any credit card, directly to the park authorities. Unlike most businesses in Tanzania, currently, the park department does not charge any additional fees if you are paying with a credit card.

Since the park fees is the major component of the overall cost of your trek, this option reduces the cash you need to carry significantly. 

The balance amount you can pay to us in cash. This will reduce the amount you need to carry with you. The balance you can also pay with card (with 7% surcharge) but overall, paying park fees directly to the park departure would be a much cheaper option for you.

If you are opting for this option, please make sure the card has sufficient credit limit and is enabled for international transactions. Carrying a backup card is recommended.

For e.g., if you have booked Machame 6 days trek at USD 1,376 per person. And you have paid a deposit of USD 275. Therefore the balance due is USD 1101.

The park fees are USD 814.20. This amount you will pay with your card directly to the park department at the Machame park gate on Day 1 of your trek.

The balance is USD 286.80. You can pay this amount to us in cash during the briefing. Or you can pay with your card with card fees of USD 18.34.

Option 3 – International Bank Transfer

In case you wish to make the full payment before you arrive, you can do a bank transfer to us. The bank transfer has to be done at least one month in advance. Our bank in Tanzania processes electronic payments very slowly and it takes them 2-3 weeks to release the payment to us.

All bank transfer fees would be borne by you. So please make sure you instruct your bank to charge the transfer fees to the sender, and not the recipient.

Once you make the bank transfer, please send us the transaction details for our reference. Once the amount reaches our bank account, we will notify you and update your balance in the system as well.

Option 4 – Pay Online

You can also make the full balance payment online with your credit card. Like Option 2, this would incur a card processing fees of 7%. Also, since it takes 2 weeks for our bank to process this payment, we request you to please let us know well in advance.

Continuing with the previous example, if you have booked Machame 6 days trek at USD 1,376 per person. And you have paid a deposit of USD 275. Therefore the balance due is USD 1101.

You can pay this whole amount online with a card processing fees of USD 55.05. So the total amount will be USD 1156.05
